Default S4 Drives Again

After 4-weeks of working on one project after another and the wheels on the S4 are down on the ground. Here is a little video post card:

- Ready:
- Set:
- Crank:

Dorky yes, I know. I wanted to thank the community for being patient with my newbie questions, you all have help me gain the confidence to take on ever more complex projects. This round I started with
- Replaced very tired factory original motor mounts with Volvo replacements
- Re-Locktite'd all the oil pan bolts.
- Replaced a leaky power steering return line
- Replaced tired Boge Reds with OE replacements/additional bumpers and necessary hardware
- Replaced PO DIY H-Pipe with X-pipe
- Rewrapping rear ABS sensor harnesses

It was such a good feeling to get the car down and started and I was more than a little nervous that I forgot something. I did triple check all the torques of all the bolts. I had to keep a running list with all the stuff I disassembled.

After I got the car started I took it out for a little shake down and photo shoot. Please note, this is before any suspension settling or any ride height adjusting.

Here is a poor quality audio of the exhaust after the X-pipe. It doesn't sound/feel too much different over the H-pipe, but I presume that will change when I change out the poorly configured PO DIY exhaust.

Default ABS Harness

Here is a before and after of one of the harnesses. They all look like this. Pad sensors were not connected any of the wheels.

Looks great Michael. There's a certain satisfaction about a project like this and having it all come together like this. Congrats on the success!

Good job getting it going.

What's the story on your clutch slave line? It seems to be hanging down way to low. Don't want to get that caught by road debris.

Good catch Sean. Near as I can tell the hard line between the flex line and the slave was shortened and routed under the starter. Maybe this was done when the clutch and slave was replaced in 2005. I have a replacement line on order as well as two mounting brackets on order so I can put things right again.
