Factory Options Available for the 993 RS
I've searched and have come up empty on the list of factory options that were available for the 993 RS. I know you could order a car with rear seats for instance. But were things like power locks and OBC (on-board computer, very popular ROW option) available? I haven't seen any cars with those... Is there a list out there with what a customer could order? Thx!

Burning Brakes
rear seats
Reminded in the photo Ilko posted that never used rear seats come with large, comfortable center arm rests, while front seats do not. Even aftermarkets hardly exist.
Where's was the thinking on this one?

Colored seat belts were standard according to the factory service manual I have. I'm interested in options that weren't standard but were added later. There are some 964 RS cars late in the production run with crazy Sonderwunsch options. Haven't seen any such 993s though.

Actually history shows otherwise. The more broke they were the more they were happy to grant customers' crazy wishes and charge them appropriately. See Bob Linton's '89 turbo cab for instance. There are many examples of highly customized Special Wishes cars in the '90s.

In the UK you could specify seats and electric windows plus anything from the Exclusive program. The same was offered for the 968 CS, such was the demand for options Porsche included the 968 Sport as a go between model having learned from the 964 and 993 RS option demands. Even a rear wiper was an option but a sunroof was part of Exclusive list. Not sure about ROW though or even Germany for that matter.

In fact I can elaborate on the above... Ron Stratton owned Strattons in Wilmslow (where I live) back in the 80-90s before going bust and famously selling his dealership for £5. Ron ordered his Porsche's on spec consignment and always had an inventory of 30 plus (964 models at the initial time) RS models and would finance them for sale to customers via the Murter family business (I personally know them both, John Murter lived a few doors down from me and Ron lived on Prestbury Road and drove a Rolls Royce with the infamous reg plate 3RR - he now lives in Australia having owned a Land Rover dealership in Knutsford as his last venture in the UK).
Customers at the time would buy off the floor as to what was available. good discounts could be had and finance was easy, yet what was to follow ended up as big news in the UK. Repossessions were rife amongst there customers, the Murter family offered finance too people they knew would default... they took the cars back and reprocessed there homes making vast profits themselves.
Strattons at the time were the biggest Porsche dealers in the U.K. Even today after the company was purchased by Pendragon PLC and renamed to Stratstones they remain the biggest dealership not only to Porsche sales, but also Ferrari and Aston Martin in the UK.
Prior to Strattons, we had 'Ian and Anthony' Porsche dealership in Wilmslow... they were a failure from the result of the 80's market crash. As a child I remember seeing all the 944 Turbos and 959's in the showroom... brings back happy memories as a kid
