Production date / Engine question
I have a 91 C4. Curious as to the date in which they changed over to the motor with head gaskets.
My car was manufactured in December of '90. From reading Adrian's book and a few other places it appears the M series (1) ran from May 1990 to October 1990. M series (2) ran from November 1990 to July 1991.
Is the M series (2) the revised engine with head gaskets?
Would my '91 be considered a late run '91 since it falls in the M (2) series?

Beautiful car!
The only way to determine whether your engine has head gaskets or not is by VIN (or taking it apart).

Well it appears that my car does have the revised motor with head gaskets. I was able to see the engine number, only dropped my iPhone once trying to shine the light on it...
