Default Door trim removal

OK so I removed my door trim to see if there was any connections issues that might be giving me an airbag warning light and one of the door fasterners didn't come off with the door panel but stayed on the car....any simple way to remove it without destroying it? I tried to wedge a pry tool in there but there isn't a lot of leverage.

Thanks

Gary

Slide the trim tool above the puck but below all the other rings. I am going from memory here. Otherwise, just rip or cut it out.... you can get a bag of these from Porsche (the parts guy at my local Porsche/Audi dealer sold me the exact same Audi part but cheaper). I don't remember the price but I was shocked..... eBay is way cheaper.

I learned a long time ago that if you are going to dick with your interior, get a bag of spares. I will say these German snaps are way more reusable than from any car I pulled apart in the past..... the Japanese units are pretty shot after one yank. A dealer should have these always on hand. If you can wait, you get bags of these on eBay for real cheap...... I believe they are the Vaico units but there are tons of knock offs for cheap.. search on eBay for "Audi trim fastener", you will see them. Good luck.

Peace

Bruce, any chance you can publish a picture of the "Audi Trim Fasteners"?

I looked them up on eBay and came up with a whole slew of different fasteners. Since I'll be puling the panels off to replace a bad speaker(s), I want to have the right ones on-hand.

Make sure you reset them (pop them back open) before trying to reinstall the panel or they won't lock back in.

2009 C2S 117K miles

You got me really curious about these things....... So I just checked the bag I keep of these things and they look EXACTLY as I posted above... of course..... but my little bag does not have part numbers on them and I can't remember where I obtained them from.... I am darn sure it was eBay....

So, I just pulled one my little snaps and it denotes "VWAG AG TED 12B" in tiny letters molded into the snap (this does not at all imply they are German as they could be Chinese knock offs) ..... So I did a quick search on eBay and found these... I measured the ones I have and these measure perfectly and look exactly correct: http://r.ebay.com/4ESavO

If you choose eBay, let us know what the markings are on them.

Peace
