Baffled airbag malfunction
Took bag off last night in prep for new wheel. Decided not to dye it and put it back on... no problem. Today new parts showed and I installed wheel carefully and reinstalled airbag. Now airbag check light is on. Took off bag and checked connection (3 times, I'm weird like that) even took off new shell and put old back on and still check airbag light is on,,, with old wheel and new... so i burned my garage and house down with the car inside (joke)

Once an airbag warning trips, it will not reset itself if the issue is resolved. No amount of ignition cycles will make it go away. It will require a dealer tool, durametric, or other compatible obd port reset tool to clear the warning light.
Always disconnect battery before doing any airbag work, not just for safety, but to avoid this problem.
But as mentioned above, even if you did disconnect the battery, if you reconnected it with a loose connection and tripped the light, fixing the loose connection will not make the warning light go away without an electronic tool to reset it.
