Default Rear Spoiler Fitment

So, I just got a 2013 CTT with the sports design package. I'm not sure if my rear spoiler is aftermarket or standard. The reason I ask is that the fitment looks off at each end. The end plastic pieces overlap the roof panel pieces. It's not a flush look but it's weird that both sides are identical in the overlap.

So I don't know if is

1. Aftermarket with a weird fitment; or
2. Just the way its supposed to be; or
3. Factory spoiler but mis-installed at some point

Need some help figuring it out

Here are the pics...

Ok...googling shows me that as I suspected, my fitment is off. I just searched 958 GTS and saw enough of them to know mine is off. So my next question is how are these pieces attached? Some form of adhesive?

I'll take it one of these days to my indy guy that I know well and see what he thinks. Hopefully shouldn't be too big an issue to remove and reattach. Weird that someone would have done it like that.

Dan, I like the porsche name on the spoiler light. Nice little touch!

And love your garage setup. Too bad we can't see behind the big red truck.

Yeah...seems to be the standard spoiler on GTS or those with Sports Design Package. Clearly the fit is off but weird for it to be the same on both sides. I'm hoping it's just a case of careful removal, remove old adhesive and reattach with new adhesive. I'll find out next week when I return.

looks like the tailgate might not have latched all the way and someone used the spoiler to push it down.

Or maybe an automatic car wash clobbered it and did damage?

the spoiler on my GTS lines up like dz997's but has what looks like rubber padding between the 2 pieces.

Yeah. Thanks guys. Something definitely pushed down on it. Oh well. Anyone have a technical manual on that rear spoiler? Curious as to proper way to take that piece off.

I believe you need to remove the top center trim inside the liftgate first and then there will be screws into the spoiler and two nuts. I had the center trim off when I added a rear dashcam a while ago. Note there's antenna wiring into the spoiler, so be mindful not to pinch/break it.

Not sure, given the attachment scews/nuts, whether it'd be a simple re-positioning or if something would be broken causing that.

This was from a 2011- manual, but would probably still be similar.

So glad to see this post. I have the same spoiler with the same exact fitment issue. Asked the dealership to quote me a fix on it and they quoted $2k for a full spoiler replacement. I declined.

Please keep us posted on the outcome / solution.

Thanks

Y'all know that this thread is seven years old, right?

If I had this issue, I would be asking my body guy to address rather than an indie mechanic.
