Default SAT Radio question please

Gentlemen... need your help please. This is in my 2005 CTT. In the picture below you can see the words "SAT not available". Does this mean even with a Sirius XM radio subscription, I unable to get satellite radio or is that all I need? Do I need some sort of upgrade? Thanks in advance for your help!

If you can find a SiriusXM ID number for your radio somewhere, you should be able to get a subscription just by signing up online. But if you have no ID number for your SiriusXM, there's nothing you can do other than getting an inexpensive SiriusXM radio that has a wired antenna that sticks to your roof (magnet holds it in place). And you then set the SiriusXM reveiver to an unused FM radio station and set your FM radio to the same unused station and you then change channels via the Sirius XM receiver which is not much larger than a credit card and has a bracket that grabs vanes in the center A/C outlet. You also have to plug it into the cigarette lighter/power socket in the pull-out right in front of the shifter. The drawback to this is as you travel, that unused FM channel you were using near home with no problems may become an active channel and that will interfere with the Sirius reception so you then have to find another unused radio station. I am using one of these small tuners (Sirius offered it for free, just pay the monthly fee for a second tuner on your account, but they sell for $40 or so, not very expensive) now as the Bose radio in my 957 doesn't have built-in satellite reception that I could find. Check through various menus in your display to see if they record the SiriusXM ID number anywhere, seems like that would be the most likely place to find it so it never gets lost.

James tune to SiriusXM, channel 0, to see your radio’s ID number. Phone SiriusXM with this number and they can tell you the status of your subscription and if necessary download a subscription refresh. If for some reason the ID number doesn’t display give SiriusXM the year, model and vin of your car and they can guide you through a process to get the ID number.

Thank you Jennifer for the feedback. I am unable to locate the ID number. Will try giving Sirius a call with the VIN and year. Much appreciated!

Was Sirius available for 2005 model year? My 2006 didn't have it but Porsche released a dealer install kit around Jan 2006 and that's what I have.

SAT Radio was an option for 2005 model year. The actual Sirius XM module was not released until late 2005(09/2005). Lift up the passenger rear seat - there should be an XM radio module bolted to the carpet. If not, eBay boneyards sell them...

Yes if you can find the kit. Go to the 997 forum and read the sticky "I have Satellite Radio in my 997 C4S Cab!". Porsche didn't offer sat radio in the early 997's but the Cayenne kit was plug & play.
