I have bought the OEM sport exhaust tips for my Cayman S from 2006. When I mount it, it is positioned too low and I want to have it a bit higher. Should the part in the picture be able to rotate upwards? Any ideas how I can do that? I loosened the bolts but cannot get any movement in the part.
That part should be able to rotate upwards, so long as the clamps are not hitting the tubing above it. It may also be possible that it is a bit frozen in place, you may think of giving it a few gentle raps with rubber mallet to see if that loosens it up.
I attached a photo for reference during a stock 987.1 muffler removal that we did while installing a Soul Performance 987.1 Cayman Exhaust.
You can see how the clamps may stop you from rotating it upwards in this image
