BaT is a decent venue, but a bit of of PITA to work with them and field the comment gallery.
And just like Ebay, no deal is done 'til a bill of sale is signed and the car is paid for.
Alex, you are on the right track with continuing to improve yours. I'm going to do the same with Silver #78 and try a different venue at a later date.
Frustrating about the '78. Wasn't it going back to Germany?

Agreed. I was a close losing bidder on it. Honestly expected it to go in the 15k-20k band. If I hadn't won another 928 auction (was simultaneously bidding on same day '78 was closing on BaT) then i'd be getting the cheque book out.

Which car did you win on the auction? Only Alex's car and Jim's cars were on auction that day that I was aware of on BAT, unless you mean an ebay 928. Did you follow through and pay the auction seller?

It wasn't a 928 on BaT, and yes I completed the sale. I've also completed sales on BaT before. I'm surprised both these RL'er cars fell through.

Sorry to hear about both of the deals falling through. Hopefully, putting them on sale next year will provide a better sales result. Possibly, both cars were "late to the party" as far as drawing a lot of attention? Personally, I thought both were below their sale value.

By the way, if anyone is SERIOUSLY interested in this car, I can trailer her to Frenzy. Just got her a fresh TB. Ready to go. Just let me know and we can hash out details.

Well, this is important news... my car is going up for sale as of pretty much now, and I was considering putting it on Bring a Trailer. Not anymore!

Well, dipping into the BAT ocean again - hopefully will get a buyer who doesn't disappear into thin air this time - changed out the 996 wheels for the original 'Gudeckels' Manhole 16" wheels with new tires, replaced shifter, completed TB change, and had the bolsters repaired, among LOTS of little improvements...wish me luck!

Re-did bolsters on both seats.

Good luck Alex. With Stan's sale today again setting a nice new high water mark, you'll be better off second time around!
