Default 951 Rear Fog Light

Does the US spec car have rear fog light/s? Was it an option?
If not does it have the wiring installed in the existing loom?
Searched for a long time through the posts -nothing found

^^^this is correct but there is an solution that uses the empty fog light space in the taillight to make the rear brighter in all situations. Try this product from only944.com

Are you absolutely sure? There are 6 conductors going to the white plastic connector that goes to the baking plate of the light unit on my US spec 951
Tail
Indicator
Reverse
Brake
Earth
What is the 6th conductor for?

By the time the turbo was made the cars were so called world cars so the looms would have been common to Euro spec cars

Idk anything about "world cars", all I know for sure is that my 86 951 taillights have no wiring for fog lights. Maybe yours are different as I only have five of the six spaces used on the round taillight connector.

Great photos-shows what I said but doesn't show mating connector . If you look at the mating connector there are 6 conductors going in to connector so one off them must be the fog light conductor. The question is how to I get it to switch on? Do I need another switch or does it work of the same switch as per the Euro cars. BTW mine is 1987 US spec car
Do Euro cars have separate switches for front and rear fog lights?
Any suggested sources for wiring diagrams? One I have tried don't work any more

I see what you mean and yes there is wiring up to the mating connector, just not to the actual space where the bulb should be.

I have seen two fog light switches on some (non US) cars, they are next to each other on the left of the steering wheel. One fog decal faces left and the other faces right. I should imagine the rear runs of its own relay and fuse like the front. First step would be to check the ROW wiring diagrams in the manuals, I only have US wiring diagrams so cannot help there. Or you could try and physically trace the wiring from the rear lights to where the switch connector should be and back to the fuse box.
