Default Seat rattle

My passenger seat rattles. It came out of a 968, but appears identical to the standard 951 non-sport seat. I'm going to pull it out and investigate, but thought I'd ask if others have experienced this and/or if there things known to rattle on these seats?

Does the rattle come from the rails or the actual seat? If you fold the back down will the rattle sound change ?

Fairly sure it's the seat itself, but will pull it out to confirm. Folding the seat doesn't seem to help, but having someone sit on it does. If I bang on the seat back when empty, it will rattle, so hopefully that will help my pin it down...

Take a look underneath, if one of the seats springs came loose it would rattle against the rail, might also go away if someone is seated. iirc the only other parts in there that could "rattle" are the power motors and lines.

btw, do you realize how much work Porsche did to lessen any vibration from the 944 seats:

Ya, that has to be pretty annoying. I've never had to take out a seat for internal noise except on any GM. Is it rattling from top or bottom part of the seat?

My $ is on a loose/disconnected metallic item in the seat base.

Took a long (200 mile) drive to Laguna Seca yesterday and spent most of it trying to pin point the noise. If I push on the seat back when it's upright, the noise goes away. It doesn't seem to be coming from the levers on the side, since pressing on them with my hand does nothing, so my best guess is it's coming from the hinge area between the seat bottom and back rest. Will pull it out after the weekend and report back.
