Judging from Porsche's track record on naming GT cars.................
The GT4-class racing series are picking up steam worldwide, and Porsche already had a GT4 race car that races worldwide. Never say never, but seems likely.
If Porsche do indeed migrate their GT3-class race cars to turbo engines, then the 992 gen GT3 could very well be turbo-ed too, and it would open up a previously occupied performance space for say a GT4RS.
I guess AP is still correct in saying there won't be a GT4RS in the near future, as Porsche Motorsport hasn't decided whether they will go turbo or not.

Let's just say Dr. Walliser & Co. didn't expect the warm reception of the GT4CS.
Initially they were only going to make 120, ended up doing 300 or so.
As they put it, they have discovered an untapped market.

I wonder how many were built to serve as repair parts and how many wound up in a HPDE environment compared to the race series.

Meanwhile, have you considered doing an AirBnB-style thing with your GT4 CS?

drove a gt4 CS this weekend. tires had maybe 10 heat cycles left in them.. so past their midpoint for sure.. but MAN what a fun ride. PDK works fantastically for this application, and the light racey feel added to the sensation. The engine felt a bit gutless to be honest, but that's because I had just climbed out of a 675LT and other higher hp cars. But the cornering feeling which comes from a light car on slicks was quite new to me and really fun to experience. Not sure what these are going for, but if anywhere close to the regular gt4, I can't imagine buying anything else in the price range to get smiles on your face.

What do you expect? They are Germans! They only think straight.
Initially they were worried about selling out the 120 cars, they thought it's a race car, not a street car and the market would be small, only race teams would buy them. And since it's a brand new series with such a 'low' entry level race car not many would be interested.
They had a shocking surprise when they introduced it at the LA Autoshow, over 900 'interests' were registered. But as we all know 'interest' doesn't always translate to sales and they settled for 300 cars production.
As it stands, the majority of the cars were bought as a track day toy, hence they 'found' the untapped market.

The initial planned 120 cars were already accounted for the actual race cars and repair spares. You do the math on how many were sold as track toys

But I should clarify that I thought we were talking about GT4 not GT4 CS when I made my comment.

The GT4 drove the Clubsport market is my guess. Even Porsche couldn't believe what a good car the GT4 turned out to be! And they sold it too cheap! They know that now...it would've sold 120K $ starting all day long!
