Default Fuel Sender Cover

PCA has a rule change this year that requires total isolation of the fuel tank via the firewall. The cover of the fuel sender is plastic. Has anyone come up with a method to replace the plastic cover with metal? Something that is removable so the fuel sender can be serviced?

Thanks,

Don

be easy...
measure diameter of "round flat spot"..cut metal circle...short tapping sheet metal screws and sealant...
what about the filler neck and stuff though?

I will in a couple of weeks, Im in the middle of my Build, Im thinking Dzus tabs and make it out of Alu so It can be simply removed... I was going to take a 6" hole saw cut the disk out of alu, weld the hole that the drill bit made in the middle and put two tabs on it.

I cut and bent some sheet steel to make a cover. The plastic cap is still there, this traps it and has tabs where I put in some sheet metal screws into the chassis. Just had to be sure not to touch the tank with the drill bit or screws...

Make Metal circle to cover the hole and 4 holes. Then make 4 metal tabs and weld nuts to them, also weld stops to the circle part. Put it together with bolts and voila.

Like this.
