I was a little off - guessing between $375k and $425k. Of course, Ray seems willing to sit on his cars for extended periods of time.

Tulips come in lots of colors as well. Maybe I should stock up on a bunch and hope the tulip market suddenly rebounds from the last bubble of a few centuries ago.
Seems like the only way I'll get back into a nice 993.

You never cease to amaze! Although exceedingly fortunate (and grateful), my means are more limited. I have a Targa 4S on order in Viper Green that will have consumed my entire fun car budget and then some for the foreseeable future.
I had a 98 C2S coupe followed by a 96 C2 coupe in the past. If I get to look again, it would be for a nice 95 coupe (for OBDI and no drive block).
Never owned a BMW but went to college with a girl that drove a (new then) 2002. That was radical in SW PA at the time!

Mad RESPEKT for you Rudy!

Almost bought a Malaga 2002 Tii a few weeks ago from an older gent that was an owner for decades and needed some capital for a new business venture. But as it often happens someone acted quicker than I could. Next time... BTW, I see a real 2002 Turbo (Italian import) in the shop I take my E30, those fenders and stance are a thing of beauty!

Ray has definitely had that car for about a year. I inquired as soon as he got it. I thought I remembered the asking price being around a half million. I remember thinking to myself I could probably get a pretty killer wrap done by whoever is the best in the entire United States for 5K or less. Not the same, but neither is the 5K versus 500K. Also, my theory is that this car would be worth more money if it was all original Porsche. Many know and respect the Andial conversion, but it's not as well-known to the broader collector public. Rudy is right though, Ray is in no hurry. I've seen him hold cars for five years.

I almost bought this car back in early 2011 from the original owner. According to the owner it is the only 1997 TT to have the 650hp conversion from Andial … there was 1 other TT with the same conversion but it was a 96. Flew out to L.A. with a good friend to check it out … at the time the car only had 9140 miles. He was asking $150K but the car was not being advertised for sale per se. Did not end up buying it. Then a couple years ago the car showed up at Road Scholars with a couple other rare Porsches from the same collection. It was sold and then ended up at Ray's about a year ago. Between Road Scholars and Rays the wheels were painted black. Couple pictures I took of the car from 2011.

Agree looks better with silver wheels. So many cars that could be had for $550 k. Serious money there.
