Any volunteers?
I do not volunteer for the next catastrophe. Someone else is gonna have to man up for that one...

As a wise man once said, "I love it when a plan comes together".

NOW it's time for a victory pint!

Except mine will be a margarita at wet wendy's since midwinter blues have driven the wife, boys and and me to Cozumel.

Enjoy Cozumel and enjoy your margarita.

I'll be having a pint (or two) tonight with my wife at our delayed-valentine's day date.

Congrats Tialoc! It was a long hard road but you kept your cool. Glad to hear you finally get to enjoy the fruits of your labor!

This is great news, well done... Now you need the snow to clear so you can drive it.

Tipping one back for you tonight

Thanks Trophy!

Amazingly, the roads are clear and dry right now. We've had a week+ of unseasonably warm weather and its perfect for driving. Knowing my luck we'll get a winter storm on Friday when I'm scheduled to pick the car up.

Thanks again for the phone call early in this process to walk me through my options and talk me down off the ledge .

That's what the community is all about....

Looks like the weather is staying good for you.... we need pics of the car in its natural environment.

Think of it as lucky it wasn't heart surgery.
A year from now this will be cocktail party convo at some Porsche event and you will have, by then, prevented 20 others from the same mess.

I got the car back today and its incredible!

When I drove up to the shop the sight took my breath away. She was whole once again. The corner balance and RS alignment has resulted in a perfect stance - she looked mean and ready to rumble, waiting for me to sit down and turn the key.

I paid my bill, gave my mechanic an extra big tip to thank him for saving my bacon and then fired her up to take the long way home. The smell of the car, the solid kerchunk of the door shut, the thrum of the engine - together told me she was alive again and ready to fire up my senses.

Compared to before the suspension rebuild, she feels more planted, solid, stiffer, better damped and more supple all at the same time. The worrying wiggles from the back end are gone. On the straight she tracks like an arrow with the slightly eager, nervous 911 fizzle and feeling that I love so much. In the corners she felt so much more solid than before with an immediate bite from the front end and a little tail wag on exit when I push hard enough. The back end no longer feels like its steering itself but does exactly what I expect when I expect it.

She has the sensitive road feel and precision that I remember from past 911s and that I've been looking for since I bought her. She's like a 993 awakened, all the glory but with the soft outer layer unwrapped to reveal the essence of the car underneath. I can't wait to get her out again, put her through her paces and get a better sense of what she's capable of now.

When the mechanic handed me the keys he had a big smile on his face and said, "Your car turned out really well. It feels great to drive." I couldn't agree more!

It was a tough road, but well worth it in the end.

Well articulated description of the upgrades Tialoc. Having just competed the same 6 months ago I could not have said it better. One of the very few upgrades that seems to only have positive effects and little to no NVH offset.
