I'd be willing to bet that its a coincidental failure of both the physical drivers door mechanism and the control module. The mechanical drivers door mechanism is failing to open the door and the module is failing to open the passenger door.
Can the doors be opened from within the car when its locked? If so the OP's only choice is to slim jim the passenger door to get in.
Tempted to get in my car lock it without the sensors on and try to open the door although my cars in an underground garage at work so its not a good look if I set the alarm off...

I willin' to bet (due to the quick exit and lack of follow up posts/pics), this guy is prolly trying to access a car that doesn't belong to him. Ha!
I hope he proves me wrong!

I see you're a proponent of single-use solutions. I have always preferred the multi-use solution in case the first application does not completely rectify the problem at hand...

Who's with me now regarding the Ellsie OP?
Came in, raped our empathy, and now he's gone.
Maybe he took Cuda's advice?

Hi all,
Sorry all, I have been in a mixed sate of frustration, aggression and depression.
I spent last Saturday going through all of the suggested entry strategies again to no avail.
I purchased a second hand drivers side window yesterday, once that arrives the rock will come out and I will be inside the car! Fun fun fun!

YAY! Nigel lives! It's actually reassuring to hear from you. I was beginning to think that we were aiding and abetting a crime in progress. Love to see some pictures of the car. If the car is in immobilize state, they may be a tough situation to unlock based on some past experiences here on RL. Some had to replace the immobilizer and alarm module and have it completely reprogrammed by Porsche just to get the car back to normal. Hope that's not the case.

Did roadside people try to open passenger side door?
Since you changed the remote batteries, does the car respond to "lock/unlock/panic" commands?
Also, film the window breaking. +1 if you punch the window out with sap glove!
