Default What to look for in a DME Report

!
I bought my 2004 in 2005 with 49.500 miles. I went the the selling/servicing dealer who put the car on the DME reader (not sure of the terminology).

The service writer said, "Do you know this car?" I said, "Not personally". He laughed and informed me that it had been overrevved 192-some times.

A week and 600 miles later when the warranty expired the power steering pump pulley came off. 50,000 miles later the alternator quit.

I'm glad that I didn't know or understand the meaning of the DME report.

Assuming those were type 2? That's value represents less than half of a second. Not really that bad in the grand scheme of things.

If those were type 1's then that car was near virgin as type 1's are logged but represent the car hitting its rev limiter...again under a half second.

You're probably right about the type 2's. Now that I have done a little research, I understand that that a "clean DME" is open to interpretation. In any event, my ignorance worked to my benefit.

Thanks

honestly it's spread across multiple tracks. Autobahn, Road America, Gingerman, Blackhawk. Usually 1-2 events each a year at each.

Back in the day you used to get lots of track time when I races superbikes years back, wish we could get that kind of time daily at the track around here. Oak hill raceway in Texas was awesome for open track time all the time!

Thanks for all the help with locating a car. I picked one up last week, not a 6-GT3, but 911-al's white 996 turbo R-turbo inspired build. Couldn't be any happier! Send your leads Al's way... he has some space now..

Nope. A grand total of 3 midnight blue examples exist from the 04/05 years.

Red is about as rare as Samsung galaxy 7 that didn't catch on fire

speed yellow IS the fastest color, so you might want to reconsider your preferred color order ;-)

I like the black wing. I may wrap roof and wing.
