My understanding is no. I have seen these units in a few early cars and always assumed that they were either period replacements or dealer installed in radio delete cars. In two parts cars, my suspicion was confirmed by date of mfg stickers.

You will see some of these on ebay with a Porsche sticker on the cassette door from "chromelondon" This is just the sellers attempt to cash in on the shockingly high value of early Porsche radios.

Try swapping out the electrolytic capacitors as the oil paper dries out with age. This is a cheap fix in a lot of cases. They are the round can looking capacitors.

I have recapped lots of classic amplifiers an this works a treat.

What you have there is a generic off the shelf old school unit with Porsche decal on the cassette door. Some of these or similar were offered over the counter back in the day.

I see a lot of sellers adding the label themselves to the cassette doors to make an otherwise run of the mill Blaupunkt look the part.....and the price.

Me thinks the seller did nothing wrong here. There is no Porsche lable on this unit. Perhaps it did come out of a Porsche too. Maybe it was just an aftermarket unit.

I know this isn't the grail but this was in the hatch of my parts car. Worth keeping around?
