Competitive in terms of what? These are not race cars, they are track capable street cars. Or do you mean competitive in terms of market segment? I think euro fuel and pollution regulations will dictate the future of GT cars regardless.

No I want Signal yellow as a $750 color not PTS

And as far as the comment that most .1 GTS's have 5 lug wheels, of the 20-30 that are for sale now (used or new) I've only seen 1 or 2 that don't have CL's.

So many models,

I would personally buy a 2015/2016 gt3 with sofas and lift over a 991.2gts.
Great DD and nice sounding engine.

If it doesn't i've got you covered. We are already seeing another 30+whp/tq on the 991.2 S with just our exhaust upgrades, which given the GTS has a similar 10% drivetrain loss to the wheels you should be close to those GTS performance numbers with just exhaust. This doesn't for tuning yet either which should be available middle of this year. A tuned S is going to lay the smack down on a stock GTS haha.

thats GT3RS territory. and simple enough to bolt on aero.

but, gets me thinkin'...
Macca I have to agree with Rosenbergendo and Chillindrdude on this one, as I think you are underestimating the potential of tuning on the 991.2. With exhaust and a tune on the 991 Turbo models, we have seen over 100whp/150wtq. Sure its smaller engine/turbos but do you really think its only going to pick up another 25hp/35tq at the crank? On the S models we've already picked up over 30+whp/wtq with just exhaust, no tuning at all yet. We can see it trying to make power on the dyno, and we are all going to be quite blown away by the performance potential of these cars when we can access the ECU via COBB and protune the car later this year

Waxer I appreciate the referall, we have worked some magic on the 991.2 Carrera since it came out and am happy to say these cars have some pretty superb sound potential. Definitely not a dishwasher or a dryer lol. TRAKCAR this first video is for you

^^^ John thats great to hear. Im well behind the times in whats possible with tuning these turbo engines, my only recent reference being the Mountune and similar cobb tunes available on the latest Focus RS Im expecting in a few weeks time. They have been more conservative with their increases probably in part due to the limitations of mechanical items like the trick rear diff etc.

We are definitely entering a new era for the 911. The GTS has me quite excited actually and I never thought I would be!

Completely understandable, and you'll like that Focus RS my buddy just picked one up its a pretty slick haha. It is the area of forced induction! Give it a few more years and you'll start seeing hybrid technology start trickling down as well. Fingers crossed we don't go full electric in my lifetime, i'd be pissed haha.

For your reference here is what we gained out of just exhaust on a 991.2 Carrera S, the hp/tq takes off after 4k rpm. Below that is a graph of full exhaust and a tune on a 991.1 Turbo S. Power is coming, turbo isn't that bad haha

Thanks, we put a lot of effort into it. Lots of low end/mid range potential on the Turbo models with just exhaust/tuning. The top end is all intake side, the IPD Plenum/Y-Pipe and Bigger Intercoolers should see another 50 up top.

Can a tune do anything about turbo lag?

I'm a huge Signal Yellow fan. Would you know if any vinyl manufacturer does a wrap in SY?

Yes. Brake boosting will help the cause as well.

Porsche and Ferrari did a lot of engineering to minimize turbo lag with the 991.2 and the 488, and those two models have less turbo lag than any other turbo car on the market.

I expect that tampering with this finely engineered process by doing aftermarket tuning of the 991.2 or 488 would increase turbo lag, not reduce it.
