Default 997tt Coolant Leaks (I know it doesn't belong here)

Last week I asked my indy if he'd been working on any tt's recently. He mentioned that in the last 2 months he's had 2 997t's in the shop for coolant leaks. He said there are 3 rubber hoses that are springing pin hole leaks, each 2-3" long & are $250 ea. . Both were tippy's and required an engine/tranny drop so this was a "very expensive" fix.

I dropped by the 997tt forum and found a thread on this. It's well known enough that Shark Werks designed metal replacement hoses for the original hoses, for $490. The rest of the coolant line(s) are metal except for these small sections.

I find it interesting that Porsche has these type of issues.

996tt has all metal elbows, 997tt went with plastic ones which are the ones that the sharkwerks version replace for your car. With auto designers finding new ways to save money and cut costs like implementing cheap plastic to replace metal you'll find nothing modern ever going to be built like the old days.
