Note that a lot of this added weight (for the cab) is structural down below in order to make up for the lack of stiffness against body twist.

Most fun I ever had behind the wheel was in my 951s.

I have the steel sunroof and like it for four reasons:
- weight
- My 911s have always had a steel sliding roof
- Like the look of the painted roof vs black glass - subjective of course
- less glass to do the 'ol 911 creak over time

I replaced my steel sunroof with a glass roof. My car is black so it was a simple DIY. The glass roof weighs about 5 to 7 pounds more than the steel panel

This makes sense, the weight differential is far less than people think

The coupe roof has to weigh something, so the glass sunroof is a <20 lb penalty. I've heard the 18 way seats are 30 lbs heavier than the 4 ways!
