Default FS:1988 944 DME/AFM $300 US

FS: 1988 8 valve 944 2.5 n/a AFM and matching ECM. Compatible with early or late cars.
$300 includes shipping throughout North America.

Works excellent! Also if you are thinking of future MAF install such as the http://www.lindseyracing.com/LR/Pors...A-NA-TUNE.html
Then you'll be relieved it's a late ecm/dme.

Just sent this ad out to all the 944Spec racers I know. We like he 88 DME for the higher rev limit but have to use it in its OEM form.

The Ftech9 DME made specifically for the class is allowed and is equal in performance to this OEM one, but you get a spare AFM if you buy this combo which could help if you are trying to update your DME from early to late since there is the AFM changeover.

I didn't know about the higher rev limit. What's the early dme limit?

The 1988 DME got another 100 rpm in the rev limiter. 1983-87 is a 6500 limit, 1988 with the 05 DME has a 6600 limit.

Thanks Ag!
And thanks Jeff for the immediate payment!
--------------

Odonnell, no stand alone (not yet)... I have other stuff in the works (he he hee).

But I planned on using my early dme & afm and wanted to sell my late model electronics for some "fund money".

The problem I have is the car runs but the tach doesn't move. Any idea how to make the late tach work with an early computer?

I was under the impression that the change over was plug+play. Are there other considerations in the swap with complete functionality?

Thanks gang!

Jeff,

I refunded you today because the early dme isn't playing nice with my car. Sorry for wasting your time!

I've researched online & there's differences in alt sensors & tach and other things... The car cranks but needs throttle manipulation to start.
I apologize. The ecm change swap is NOT plugnplay.

IF ANYONE HAS A KNOWN GOOD 88 dme/afm, please contact Jeff.... he's a very good buyer - highly recommended!

Cheers,

Noah

Did you change the AFM to an early one as well? We swap early and late DME/AFM all the time with no issues so there might be an issue with your early parts you swapped in.

Received the refund today and thank you for the kind words.

Noah,

One thing I forgot to say in our PM conversation is there are two kinds of "early" DME's. There are ones from 83-85.5 then 85.5-87. Make sure you have the correct matching set for the year of the DME and year on the AFM.

Best Regards,
Jeff

This is a good point. And it's also possible that the ecm is faulty (it looks a little bit rough). Seems to drive good once on the throttle, but like I say the car doesn't start without giving it gas. Does that sound like a incorrect afm? I'd think not... but maybe wrong.
