Default Brake balance/bias box?

Hi all!

Have anyone of you who has mounted a brake balance/bias box on your 944? Are there any direct fit boxes on the market?

Kind regards
Anders

I don't know of any specifically made for the 944, the ones I've seen were all fabricated from generic parts. You could just fit a bias adjuster **** inside the cabin and simply tap into the front and rear brake lines. You could also make something more elaborate, I have this custom made one fitted in place of the brake booster:

Anders,

I mounted a Fabcar dual master with Tilton bias adjuster on my 911 when i was tracking it , for the only reason that i had installed 996TT brakes all around and there was way too much front bias due to the weight of the car and the size of the front calipers !
It was overkill for my 911 and definitely not needed on a 944 asides from maybe the "look" factor , the 944 brakes are more than adequate in my opinion !

Although MAGK 's system looks pretty awesome !

Good one!
My problem is to find a small one lengthwise since I have some other stuff competing for the space on that side of rhe bay. I have already bougth a box with cylinders but it was to long.

Since wrote this post I have been in contact with a company in England, compbrakes, that will build one for me with ap-cylinders. The one i got has girling cylinders. So all in all the new one will be 7.5 cm shorter witch suites me just fine.

That is exactly my problem, to much bias to the front that locks up instantly. The 944 is fitted with 996TT brakes in all four corners.

My 964 has big reds all around but it also has ABS witch is a luxury I dont have on the 944.

The 944 is a trackcar only. It is in the base a N/A but has been converted to a turbo holding some 400bhp on 1060kg.

It has an brake bias reducer on the rear circuit but since the bias is forward there's no use for that valve.

Kind regards
Anders

Anders, I also had the same issue and tried to solve it the same way as you. Still have my old bias reducer if anyone is interested in it.

Phil, thanks for the compliments although I bought this as is and didn't make it myself. It is very functional, you are correct that it's a little overkill but it brings a "cool" factor to the engine bay. The car is a track car with manual brakes and steering. When I get into a power steered and brake boosted car after driving it I have to learn to drive again.
