Default Wheel Options

There are a number of posts showing off wheel options / pics, some by members, some by vendors - mostly without the full specs, incl. offsets.
I have been looking for a 2nd set of wheels with the correct OE size, but have been coming up short.
GT4 OE: F 8.5x20ET61, R 11x20ET50
I can see that the front can take a little less offset, e.g. 55 instead of 61, but the rear is pretty much maxed out in OE form.
What are viable options? Anyone?

The track wiki covers wheel and tire options extensively. Look at the first post and go to the wheel/tyre section. Even though its has been written for track setup the wheel and tire specs, offsets and alignment setting to make various options work is still relevant.

Yes. Aware of that thread. It just spells out 19" wheels specifically.
If this thread can collect together a couple 20" options, then those can transfer over to the setup wiki thread also. Just have not been successful in actually finding anything in the range
F: 8.5x20 ET (61..55) and R: 11x20 ET 50.
Particularly the front seems very GT4 specific. Lot's of options for the rear from 991's. That fits perfect (either with spacer, or without in the 991-4 size). Not for the fronts, though.

Correct OE sized aftermarket wheels are far and few inbetween. The only ones posted on here are the "Manthey BBS FI-R" ones. All other listed on RL have non OE front offsets.

Default OZ WHEELS

Ordered this from Tire Rack and ran VIR last weekend with Carolina Region. Had 11 track sessions and the Wheels and MSPC2s were great. Even tread wear all four corners thanks to my alignment set up shop in Virginia Beach. Did have to install adjustable rear toe links to get the camber and toe we needed. Tire Rack even guarantees the fit and love the TPMS

HRE and Forgeline also make 20" wheels that will fit the GT4.

HREs are available with ET55 fronts and ET50 rears. They will work just fine with your GT4. Beautiful wheels, very well made. Quite expensive.

I ordered a set of HRE RC100 wheels for my GT4 and I'm expecting them to arrive sometime in December. Will be posting photos as soon I receive them and have a chance to put them on the car. As noted above, they are ET55 front and ET50 rear (8.5x20 and 11x20). Those are the offsets recommended by HRE and I was told that HRE will not go beyond ET57 offset. I was originally considering going with ET58, but was told the design would not support that offset and ET57 was the max, so I decided to just go with what HRE recommends.

To get ET61 (OEM offset) you end up with spokes that stick out from the edge of the rim a lot. The OEM spokes protrude a little, the FI-Rs really quite a lot.
For example:

Going with ET55 like HRE suggests will get you slightly less spoke poke. But you're never going to get BMW-class concavity on a GT4.

Interesting to see the new HRE suggestion of ET55 being posted. In the beginning they would call it proprietary (and it turned out to be ET50 for the most part as reported on here). Maybe too many reports of issues as posted on here. Maybe members do know more.
Wish more vendors were open about their proprietary offset and post it instead. But then again it could be people as well and their expectations.

The reason I was given that 57 offset was the max is that any offset greater than 57 would breach the minimum thickness of the lug seat cross section. That is why I went with 55. I did not want to be right on the edge of acceptable. The distributer assured me that even at 57 the wheels would have sufficient margin of safety, but I feel better at 55, which was the original recommendation anyway. I was originally considering 58 because I am going to run RE-71Rs on the HREs, and I understand they have a more square shoulder than the Dunlops I have on the car now. I am running 10.2 degrees of caster, which pushes the wheel forward a lot and I may get rubbing on the wheel liner at full lock with the combo of ET55 and RE-71 at the current caster setting. I am not getting rubbing now, but would like to stay with as much caster as possible and not have to re-align the car. A lower offset may further push the wheel toward the liner, if only minimally.
