Hey guys, I have been in discussion with Chris at LC Motorsports and he has informed me that he is partnering with DBA(Disc Brakes Australia) to develop an SPC legal 2-piece rotor. DBA is casting the disc's while LC Motorsports are producing the aluminum hats as well as the hardware. I am told they will be ready for shipment just in time for Christmas. Feel free to reach out to Chris for your braking needs. I used his rotors on my old SPB and was very happy with the performance and life of them. They also supply JRZ suspension and can put together SPC packages at a competitive rate for those that haven't ordered yet.

As Frank said, weight. And a little better thermal isolation.
Also... replacing the disc ring is marginally cheaper than replacing a one piece rotor.
2 piece rotors can be fixed or floating (accommodates runout and asymmetrical pad thrust).

These rotors will be below that scary price of $1200.00
Matt's comment is normally true...
"Also... replacing the disc ring is marginally cheaper than replacing a one piece rotor. "
But, my goal is to keep the cost on par with most 1 piece replacement options.

Usual benefit of two piece rotors is that although you pay a higher initial price by the third brake job you are saving money. Glad this is happening there wasn't anything on the market before this announcement.

Thx for taking this on Chris and making an option available for SPC.

Do you need these brakes? No, but it has it's advantage of less unsprung weight/rotational mass. A few more of these skirting around the edges of the rules and all of a sudden we're talking about a car that could be significantly faster than one using stock parts.

lots of bite up front, hard linear ramp in the rear, and lots of front cooling and it is a really good recipe. Key is a pad that can handle the heat.

Just my opinion but a good high end pad, coupled with proper cooling is all you need with this chassis. Every bit helps of course. But we have had great braking results with the right setup.

To me, if LC can keep the price down at least close to the standard rotors (Porsche boxed are approx $225 each on Pelican, Zimmerman is 1/2 that) it's a win/win, but to allow something that costs substantially more to me and creates a (minor) advantage isn't in the spirit of a "Spec" class..
