Looks like folks in Germany can order the power kit. It comes with bigger turbos, new brake cooling, PSE, SC and some titanium engine cover (whatever that means). And yes.. it has 450 hp, as expected. My question now is: does this confirm that the GTS will have the power kit, or is there a little small tiny chance that it might still come with a NA engine?

No doubt the GTS will have the turbo power pack. Why would they use an old technology NA engine?

Yes, NA is sooooooooooo yesterday. Inferior technology. Those poor GT buyers are just crying on the GT3 board. They can't give those GT cars away

fun... and zero lag. i know it is impossible. I was hoping they do the same thing with the old panamera. keep the v8 on the GTS ad put a v6 in the S. ain't happening...

X51 + Add rear drive wide body, center locks, and some cosmetics, you have the GTS. Predictable formula.

The German website states:

Performance Carrera S. Note: Available from 06/2017 at the earliest

Performance increase to 331 kW (450 hp). Includes a larger exhaust gas turbocharger, modified brake cooling, sport exhaust system with 2 centered tailpipes in independent design, Sport Chrono package including dynamic engine mount, optimized engine control as well as a new engine room styling with titanium cover and carbon inlays


The is just the precursor to the GTS and validates what I reported from my "cleaning lady" source back in March: 450hp, turbo, etc.

Personally, I am really looking forward to the 991.2 GTS as a replacement for my current GTS. But I will still be keeping a foot in the NA world with my 991.1 GT3 and my 991.2 GT3 which has a July 2017 build slot.

At least at $10,700 they're making it quite a bit cheaper than previous X51s, reflecting the ease with which they were able to get the power.

Of course, German pricing can't be converted to USA pricing by simply using a currency convertor. In reality, Porsche stuff is usually cheaper in the U.S. than Europe.

But even if they charge less than $10,700US I bet the margin on these kits will be better than on the NA kits at 15k, or whatever they were.

450 HP would be nice on paper but I can't use the 420 HP I have now on any public roads I travel!
Road America, Blackhawk and The Milwaukee Mile are the only venues I have been able to use Sport +.
The one time, I used the 'Push to Pass' button was on the Illinois Tollway and I was in 'Go to Jail' land very quickly.
If I really want more HP, I would go to a Turbo or Turbo S.-Richard

X51 doesn't usually do much for peak torque - in the case of the turbo version, it will probably hold boost into a higher rev range to produce the extra power (probably at the expense of a little more lag and lack of low-end grunt with the larger turbochargers). Peak torque probably unchanged - just the shape of the curve altered. The extra 30hp and fatter torque curve in the higher revs will be noticeable though.
