Default Battery Tender (Cigarette lighter)

What is an alternative to the porsche battery maintainer without having to spend $200.

The only other thing you might want is the mounting bracket. I have mine on a post by the car, drive up, park, reach out and insert in teh lighter outlet.

But whatever you get, make sure your GT4 is one that will charge through the
power plugs. Many, like mine, shut off connectivity between the power outlets
and the battery after some minutes. The only way I can keep my battery hooked
up to a smart-charger is either by connecting to the battery terminals themselves,
or by using an OBD-II adaptor for the charger, and connecting it under the dash.

I have a Feb 2016 build. Can I still use the CTEK 4.3?

A good all-GT4, no-hood-up, no battery-uncover solution is to get the good
NOCO Genius smart charger, and buy their OBD-II connecter. Then just
plug your charger into the OBD-II port under your steering wheel.

And if you already have a charger you like, you can just buy that OBD-II
connecter, and cut off the NOCO click-link, and splice the unit to the
wires of your charger... You can make a 'Y' so you keep the existing
connecter too, and just use one or other according to the vehicle, if
you need to use it for a vehicle so old it doesn't have OBD-II...
