Default It's good to be back in a 951!

Not been posting for a while as I haven't touched my Porsches due to some major surgery on my leg. As a result I haven't been able to drive any of them for over 8 months. The clutch leg had the surgery, so the 55 was my daily driver for that period but I'm not complaining, that beast is the most powerful and capable car I have ever owned. If Mercedes still made it, I'd buy another without a doubt.

Still, it was great to drive the 951 today, god I missed it. First thing I noticed was how much "feel" it had, meaning I could actually judge what it was doing (or going to do) on the road. The 55's ABC is excellent but it loses all the feedback from the road, and being twice the weight of the Porsche probably doesn't help either.

The 55's supercharger boost is "effortless" though there is no comparison to the turbo's constant increase of boost power all the way to the redline. Yes it's more powerful and more comfortable (though the massaging sports seats are a bit ott), but I'm so happy to be driving a 944 turbo again.

Thought I'd share my thoughts

...and here's the beast outside Renntech, which is just up the road from where I live..

Congrats on the recovery and sweet CL55! As a 55 owner I can relate to the effortless power and torque of the M113K.
