Some Becker units look period correct, even some of the newer versions with newer features.

The '89 M030 turbo usually came with a Blaupunkt Monterey ( at least the one's I have seen, and they are NOT many ) but if you paid extra you could get a Blaupunkt Miami with 30 Watts power, 10 speakers, and an equalizer setup like this with a power amp. It is an awesome display of sound. ( sorry about the blurred images )

You may have to hunt around a bit to find someone selling a used unit and expect it to be more than a little expensive.

But it's a 'fine piece of kit'

as opposed to this:

what came if you special ordered a "Delete Special" with numerous deletes besides the stereo. A plastic binnacle instead of an Am-Fm. This one also got the cigarette lighter nixed as well, along with rear nomenclature, sound deadener, body undercoat, gas cap lock, console/cassette holder, and many other items ....

1984 N/A - M456 I special ordered with a Weissach Prep ( hand built and fettled drivetrain, track prep set-up @ Weissach. )

It came with a base Blaupunkt CR 2002 because the 'delete option' wasn't selected. I was too busy/concerned about getting the extra cost leather Sportseats. Which never arrived like many ordered out because demand outstripped availability; ability for Recaro to supply them.

Sound quality is meager. Even with the optional and very rare Blaupunkt speakers with tweeter built into the bottom of the housing ( note the flanged styling ).

It's never used anyway /-;}

period correct Kenwood for reference purpose only as it's non o.e.

It was put in before I got the car, but the sound is phenomenal. Speakers were upgraded at the same time. It's in an early series 1 - 944 I also own with factory Sportseats by Recaro and this car only has around 55,000 original miles. (LSD, 16 inch FUCHS, sport suspension, in Guards Red and black)

The Blaupunkt Daytona in my '88 Jubilee/Celebration 944

It's a great sounding unit and apparently what most Jubilees came with. I have seen one with a Reno and one with a Monterey, but of the dozen or so Jubilee cars I've known of or seen, most had this same Daytona

A later edition Blaupunkt ( it came as a spare in a box with several other Marantz and Sonys ) currently shelved with several of my 911s that I can't seem to compete with any more.... (-;
both seen here with camber and wheel issues.

(and my '88 Carrera doesn't have any of these Blaupunkts ... it would nearly blow the glass out of that car if cranked up, but that's a story for another day and another forum page )

+1 for becker. Looks good and works even better. But the best part is, it is intuitive, buttons do what you expect them to do, not like some pioneers, alpinas etc where sometimes even to turn it off requires advanced skills.

I keep seeing the Nashville pop up on eBay. Any Intel on those?

I only listen to podcasts and NPR, but this is what I have, it is late 90s, so period correct for a 968, not 80s I suppose.. Blaupunkt Nevada. Traditionally a manufacture that Porsche has used and I think the oval of the display matches the ovals in our dash:

These modules will work on the CDR-220 and this unit (Most Becker / Blaupunkt, check pinouts to be sure) since it uses CD Changer power and inputs with dedicated tel output sense too.

Or just for audio:

I just have a 30pin ipod adapter and one of these:

All the newer radios have too many fancy color displays and crap. Finding a black utilitarian looking deck is hard and what I prefer, and original reason I picked the blaupunkt was for it to look stock.
