IMO, Aston Martin has produced some of the most elegant interiors in the industry. Their combinations of leather, stitching and other fabrics or carpet are sumptuous and classic.......nothing garish or out of the world, just tasteful. There are many concepts that can be adapted to the 928 and I think Paul Champagne showed that level of design expertise years ago. Unfortunately, most couldn't (or wouldn't) wait 8-10 months to get it, or pay the price for it. It seems that Rob Budd has filled that void. French seams and tasteful complimentary contrast will bring the interior to 2016 standards without looking like a French pimp's whorehouse. Subtle trim and minimalist detail will stand the test of time. In other words, more is less.
Ya, I will keep the lines of the 928 seat bolsters, but shoot for the 997 insert design.
Im also considering not just redoing my door inserts in new tan leather, but tan alcantara to match the stitching and carpet...and transition from the carpet texture to the seat texture as well.
I just think that going tan seat centers might be too far...not sure if they 'want' to match the carpet or not.

To these eye's the tan seats look best. Add in the preferred alcantara seat centers that will tie in nicely with the alcantara door inserts. Add an embossed "Porsche" logo top of seats for the finishing touch.02 T
928 seats, sport bolster style.
Tan alcantara center sections, 997 style
Tan alcantara door inserts.
Tan embroidery on headrests
Tan french stitching.
Now that's a winning combo Jeff What are your plans for auto? shifter handle, (or 5spd manual boot), steering wheel, tops of center and side armrests ? T
Went to my local go-to upholstery shop (except for more specialized work, like my seats being changed to sport seats and widened) and bought some caramel color fabric, and had them stitch some scrap leather with matching thread to get eyes on the real final resulting colors and textures...
And I wanted more of a "cushioned" look than the flat panel look of the 997 centers, represented here:
But I am thinking about adding in that 'low space' in between the panels and putting black material in there, like a 3/8-1/2" separator to add highlights, here: (Imagine the outside of the seat is black leather)
