Still for sale. I don't really want to ship internationally.

Any evidence that any aftermarket filter outperforms the OE filter on the GT4?

We just put BMC in place of OEM on our service manager's recommendation.

Not only are they washable and re-usable but he thinks they may offer a tiny bump (5HP max) in performance. We didn't do it for the performance. More so because he recommended it and he hasn't steered us wrong yet. Plus I like the idea of re-usable.

BMC is to be checked every 20K miles per svc mgr but we found the OEM filters to be much dirtier than expected with so few miles. Hubby's is at 5400 miles and mine at 4100. Both were recommended for replacement and in the future we'll be checking at least once a year and not waiting 20K miles.

Our theory is that the low-to-the-ground placement of the filters subjects them to more road grime/debris than the filters in other cars. Maybe this means they'll get dirtier faster.

We figure that like an oil change, a clean filter is cheap insurance.

By the way - GLWS and we would have gone for it if the car wasn't already at the dealer.

Yes, I'm too lazy to STFF but wasn't there a post somewhere on here that the GT3RS came with BMC filters OEM?

Just don't drive anywhere there's silica dust in the air and you'll be fine. ;)

If someone puts the GT4 up for sale though, please note that it has aftermarket filters so I don't accidentally buy it.

None taken. If it's a mistake to use BMC I can easily reverse the decision. They were put on at the very end of the season before storage.

This is an old thread. I believe you've just seen that post. I was not saying it's a mistake to use this type of filters. What I was saying is that I'd like to see a Dyno comparison between a stock car with paper filters and a stock car with BMC,K&N or similar. It is my belief that there isn't any difference in power.
Oily filters are fine, but many people use too much oil when trying to clean them and reuse them. So,if there's no power difference, why use them...?

While I do think like other here that the gains would be minimal the People at DMS think otherwise....check he DMS race header thread towards the last pages. As mentioned I still haven't seen any dyno plot showing a significant increase....I will check mine (10Kmiles) to see how dirty they are but will probably just use OEM ones for now....the only think that picks my curiosity with filters is Porsche decision to use BMC on the GT3RS
