Turned out great! You have a close up pic of how it looks around the colored emblem?

I did the same thing a few months ago. Inexpensive way to change up the look of the car. Great thing is if you dont like it, the paint peels right off. Now I dont have to worry about the break dust much at all. Only thing I can add is that I was told to apply seven cans to get the color I was looking for and my finger was about to fall off after I was done applying the spray. http://www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleu...1526/100670383

Did you dip your nuts as well

And I assume you were just careful with the socket when installing them so you didn't rip the dip.....

Problem with that approach is I am doing it myself while the rims are off the car. Will figure out something for the lug bolts. Maybe spray them after the install through a toilet paper tube

I am going to try flat black with some silver metallized. I assume yours are just flat black?

The center caps are the perfect design for Plasti-Dip. There is a ridge around the crest that is the perfect tear-line for the coating. No need to mask.

Me too! Easy, just keep applying and they will stop wiggling around coat 4.

Peace

Does anyone know how long this usually lasts before touch ups are required?

It will last years provided you do not remove the lug bolts or scrub the wheels when you wash them.

So for a daily driver, one that will get a large amount of brake dust, Plastidip doesn't appear to be a good idea. No? Cleaning a normal wheel is a pain and I have to use my fingers in the tight spots. Hmmm.....

Looks great! Always liked these wheels, very beefy classic 80's look.

One question though, what's the real name? I always thought we sounded pompous and stupid for calling them Lobsters.
