Did you get temp tags? If not, I don't know. It's all computerized and centralized now. Look on the Colorado gov website for how long you have to get the temp tags. (Make sure it's Colorado Dept of Revenue (I think) and not a commercial site. There are commercial sites that don't have definitive info but pretend to look official.) Temp tags have expiration printed on them, usually it's something like six weeks. After that, you register and pay the taxes etc. IIRC officially you get a 30-day grace period after expiration where you pay a penalty of a few dollars, but it's not a pullover risk. Without tags, I have no idea.

What color is your car? If I see you driving around, I'll wave.

Oh, and emissions testing. (Easy in Boulder. Usually takes just a few minutes.)

Here's the info site. Hope this helps! https://www.colorado.gov/pacific/dmv/vehicles

How long can I drive with out registration or tags (in Colorado)?

5 minutes or 5 months, which ever comes first.

Longest I've gone in VA is 5 months before getting a ticket.

I also once drove around with a fake Irish plate on my Jag for 6 months without getting a ticket. It was legally registered though, just not displaying the plates.

No idea about CO though. Luck of the draw I guess.

Go for it and if you're pulled over just tell them you are meaning to go, but keep getting distracted by the munchies

damn. I do not have temp tags.

I'll just go Monday morning. I am going for a tour of Tebo's garage tomorrow and wanted to take the Porsche.

It's a black C2, with black rims and a dark tint. It looks great in my opinion.
Please do wave! I am very happy to be part of the club.

If you are a AAA member, just go down to your local office and they will do all the title and registration work. No waiting, and they make it very easy. They have done several out of state transfers for me and I've never had any problems.

Back when I was a cop, if I pulled over a vehicle with no visible plates and the driver had a bill of sale and it appeared he had just bought it and was driving it home he'd be ok. Having insurance is a good thing. Now, if the bill of sale was dated and it showed you've had a couple days... well...

Your mileage may vary, results of previous incidents may not be what you experience. Good luck.

You have to be careful. Insurance may only be in effect if the car is legally registered. You need to read the fine print of your insurance policy.

It is best to get the car registered as soon as you can. In some cases this can be a bit inconvenient but if I'm right about the insurance just get into an accident and find your insurance is not in effect. Inconvenient won't begin to decribe what you will experience.

Here they just impound the car. You have the pleasure of picking it up from the impound lot after sorting out the paperwork

The fastest way is the AAA route. If you are not a member, just spend the money to join and get your tag if you want to drive the car (remember your insurance 'may' not cover if car is not registered).
