My 993 Mods, Round 2
Round 1 was simple - clear bra, C4 engine mounts and a kick *** audio system.
As for Round 2, I'm Super excited...Yesterday I installed my new 97 ECU with Rennsport Systems/GIAC tune and today I dropped the car off to install my KW V3's, FD Goldenrod & SSK!! Oh, and a Joe Gibbs DT50 oil change.
Asked for the car to be set at ROW M030 ride height and fairly stock alignment (don't want the car too darty). What do you guys think?
Can't wait to get the car back. Full review then.

I'd go with a more aggressive alignment personally.
talk with the tech about needs, driving style etc...
Interested to hear your thoughts on ECU mod.

Only things I would add suspension wise are Walrod front bushings along with RS rear motor mounts to round out your current suspension upgrade.
IMO Fister Stage 2's are the best mod I made, very visceral. Adding a Fabspeed X-Pipe with 200 cell sport cats make my old **** feel young again lol.

Coming along nicely. Love this shot. Just have to do something about those calipers!!

Youll love the V3s, especially if you were stock before. I'm still learning suspension theory and adjusting every now and then but I really like them. Also I agree on a more aggressive alignment depending on your road conditions and comfort level. The tires dont seem to last that long on the car anyways, so whats an extra 1k miles per change if youre having (safe) fun.

Some more pics from the install:
FD Stuff:
And the KWs all in....
at race track height. Haha. Adjustments in process:
Stock was 26-1/2 " all around. So the setting we chose was 30mm drop (ROW M030) equals 1-1/4". Since the car will probably settle, We set the height to 3/4" lower than stock, expecting an additional 1/2" to 3/4" drop over time while it settles.
Next up, alignment and then compression and rebound fine tuning.
Oh, and this, of course:
Last oil change was by PO 2k mi ago, but in 2011, so I think it's time

You are on the right track...
Just keep in mind, the more mono-ball pieces in the suspension, more noise in the cabin. A good example of a big monorail is front camber plates...you may go there with that trick KW suspension. It is rewarding to have the right camber set up with a track suspension, and of course 993RS swayers and drop links. If you go -3 degrees in the front as an example, you'll want about -2.5 in the back. Need to change out the rear camber link with monoball link (ERP) if you want that...I went with a complete ERP rear system. The car is a bit noisy, but it handles very well.
Soon you'll be thinking about that 2nd to 3rd lag....and the tall gears. They are there to reduce noise and increase gas mileage..Big Brother wants you to be a quiet Lil Brother....but to hell with that, get short gears for your transmission...best mod I ever did, but expensive, about $10,000 to $12,000 if you do it right...new mainshaft, etc.
We're just here to get you down in the hole that we're in! It's great down here.

interesting fact....immobilizer bypass relay also bypasses the clutch safety switch???? Didn't realize that was the case when I had the immobilizer bypasses in my new Rennsport ECU. Anyone have the same experience. I'm the only one who drives the car, so I guess its no biggie.

looks great so far. It will feel like a whole new car for sure. As far as the calipers go, this is what I did.

Really looks great! I'm sure it drives like a brand new car now. I hope a similar setup is not too far down the road for me.
Enjoy!
