I'll play. Here's a look at my "retro" 991. Going for a serious '80's vibe. Duck tail is on the list! LOVE the side graphics with the black wheels on here.
Thanks to inspiration from my fellow Rennlisters, I took the leap of faith and performed my first DIY modification of my GTS. I purchased my decals for 50 pounds at: http://www.designstuffonline.co.uk/v...91_decals.html
Each side took about an hour. I am not going to go into details about how I did it but I am happy to answer questions if you have any. I have included before and after photos. I am really happy with the way it turned out. It is like when you get new sneakers when you are a kid - you feel like you can run faster. With my new look, my car feels even faster (placebo effect!) and I like that it is a nod to Porsche's past and its race car heritage.
I found some valuable DIY videos on YouTube which made the application of the badges more streamlined. Thanks, Rennlisters, for your inspiration and tips!
Hi @Porsche911GTS'16, your car looks awesome.
I have a Sapphire Blue Porsche 911 4 GTS and am about to an install with the exact same decal. I just have a quick question regarding the stone guard. Did you remove it, stick the decal over it or cut the stone guard around it.
Great posts, ya'll - it is great to see pictures of the sweet side decal modifications! Busta2706 - I put the decals right over the stone guards. Please post pictures after you are done!
Anyone try extending the side decals along the front-side bumper section? Saw it on the Designstuffonline site. Do you think it's true to Porsche or just too much?
I also maintained my stoneguards but I got new ones and I asked them to cut out where the decal runs through. So I have the protection above and a bit below the decal. This is how she looks...
since you guys are looking at side stripes, i know its not a 991 but what about this on my GT4. I messed it up and need to order a new set but I can't tell if the contrast looks good. It feels like I definitely have to do something with the wheels to tie it all in.

Matte black decals would be subtle cool on your glossy paint and keep the theme. Or if you really like the yellow, perhaps yellow rim strips? Your call.
