So, does RRS manufacture the wheel? I bought an identical wheel (T96 model name as well) from DCT Motorsports.

Regardless, it's a great mod. I love mine.

 

You have sharp eyes! Ivan is a friend/business partner and handles supply chain. We do have our own designs, kind of a FRS/BRZ relationship. The quality is indeed awesome!

Looks great! I myself opted for a similar option (small diameter flat bottom), though got mine from Carnewal.

 

I have a T96 as well that I bought from DCT Motorsports. Awesome wheel. Perfect for the 993. I had mine completed in all smooth leather vs partial perforated.

Does this wheel sit closer to the driver than the standard 4 spoke? Obviously it will to some extent because it's thicker, but is it noticeable?

The driving position with the new steering wheel didn't change. However, the new steering is smaller than the stock 4 spoke, but that's a good thing.

There has been increasing interest from 993 owners to move to a 996 steering wheel (on which our T96 design is based), so supply of airbags is tight and prices high on used (un-deployed of course) ones are high. We also take pride of providing a cost effective upgrade and are still working on a solution.

Meanwhile, if you still have an interest please approach us individually. We can also provide a re-wrapped 4-spoke wheel in return for stock exchange, so you can retain the use of your original airbag.
