Well, decided not to sell our house after all and stay put here for a while, so probably no need to sell the Spyder! I drove it to show it to a nice Rennlister today and loved it so much on the drive that by the time I got there I had decided not to sell. Then, after standing in sun a bit, felt positively awful driving home and told him I would sell it. He's thinking it over, but looking for another color, so I think I might come out of this still owning my Spyder! Boy do I feel like a drama queen. A dizzy drama queen with a persistent low grade migraine headache...
If that silver GT4 gets another inch closer to the parking block, I might be sick....
I think I was so excited to the see the Spyder I wasn't being mindful. I was quite surprised to see how low the Spyder was. For some reason I thought the Spyders were more of a civilized cousin of the GT4 that would be a more suitable daily driver but it appears to be just as low.

GT4 is 10mm lower. It has the same SPASM suspension on the GT3, since it's considered a GT car (don't understand why, due to having a detuned Carrera S engine only). The Spyder is not, even though it has the same engine as the GT4, so it has the same X73 suspension as other 981s, 'only' 20mm lower. I wouldn't want it any lower than that, so X73 is perfect for me (2016 Cayman GTS here). I'm not a fan of adjustable shocks, as the rest of the suspension is not adjustable, and it never feels completely sorted IMO. X73 feels just about perfect. But have never driven a GT3, to render a final judgment.
Unfortunately not keeping it now. Took a drive Saturday with my daughter and realized that I have to face the fact that my hip just can't handle the clutch anymore. Sucks but I have to accept reality. Crossing my fingers the next GT4 or Spyder has PDK.

Both spyder and GT4 are perfectly acceptable as dailies.

Sorry to hear it. I'd second the suggestion to look at a 987.2 Spyder with PDK. I have one and can't wipe the grin off my face when I drive it. It might not have all the power of the 981 version, but as a drivers car, I don't think it can beat.

My forecast: next GT4 and Spyder will have PDK as an option. AP has commented that in the future, they want to provide both the options and let the buyer choose. I am guessing that would be the case until the entire line goes hybrid/electric which negates MT.
