First, say "No, I got it, thanks for the offer"
if they insist, Say "OK" then grab a roll of paper towels or something and say "Hold on to this for a second", then go about doing all your stuff. If they ask "why" say "you'll see, just hold them". When you're all done, take the paper towels from him (most likely a him) and say "thank you! Last time I forgot my paper towels, you holding them made me remember them! You're Awesome!!"
Hitch ball wasn't connected, so when I drove onto the trailer the front went UP. And then you drive VERY SLOWLY back down the ramps hoping you don't destroy anything. I succeeded. I should have taken a picture.

Ouch! Saw a guy do this last month. He got off lucky and only trashed his license plate. At first I thought "skyed" meant you took the roof off an enclosed trailer, this is arguably less bad.
Once many, many years ago I was loading a street car on a u-haul trailer connected to a u-haul and the parking brake didn't work. Drove the car up, and the whole rig rolled forward - luckily I was at the low spot in the parking lot.
Ummmm so who has done that w a person standing ON the trailer? Just asking for a friend .....😂
Not me but a friend did that to his GF. She uncoupled the trailer to go get coffee, parked the ball perfectly under the hitch.
Later she stood on the v to guide him up onto the deck, a bit steep so he gave his M3 a little bit of throttle. She went up and over to the side and landed on her feet, judges gave her a 4 because it was very sloppy.
