Thanks,
I have them on my 86 and love them. Amazing stopping power and have yet to fade. On the 86 (early offset) it is quite a bit more involved. Before I run down all that is needed, do you have an early or late offset car?

I'm sorry I won't be much help on the "how" but when I had Big Reds put on my 86 951, I also had late offset hubs and Charlie arms installed because I don't really trust those early offset aluminum A arms. It was a good time to do it while the brakes were installed.

Will require caliper adapter plates and rotor hat adapters for the 993 2 piece rotor (928 GTS or C2 Turbo rotors are 1 piece). Exact dimensions depending on early or late.

I have a set of Big Reds just sitting here taking up good counter space, I figured I might consider this option.

Rotors are a dime a dozen so if I need to change those and these can fit right on then I'm seriously considering doing this....

I have Turbo S spindles & hubs on mine. Makes BigReds a bolt-on w/o adapters using either the 928 GTS or 964 Turbo rotors.

Here's the bible: http://www.944s2.com/brakes/brakes.htm

If you have a '87 951, it is not an "S" and you will need the Lindsey adapters for mounting the Big Red Calipers. You will also need to remove and remount the calipers bleed lines for a 951, since the calipers are mounted on the trailing edge of the rotor and not on the leading edge like a 993. You will also need to get an appropriate set of rotors. I prefer the 993 turbo rotors (two-part), which require the Lindsey rotor hats to work with a 951. These rotors are more expensive, but worth it. One last comment, there are no inexpensive aftermarket rotors that work with the the Big Reds, so go with the OEM rotors (~$450/pair).
