Most of the parts I bead blasted and then used soap and water to clean the material off with. Then I used (I think) krylon high temp silver paint. I'll see how it sticks.

I'm trying to figure out what kind of turbo this is. I bought it and was told it is a hybrid turbo. It looks like a #8 hotside, but the rest I can't figure out. I'm trying to get as much info as possible so that I can compare to what I had. It is a dry turbo (no water cooling). Any info would be great!

2000 miles and still holding up. 15 psi on the manual boost controller and dual port wastegate and this turbo holds pressure all the way to redline. I'm contemplating an electronic boost controller to get a faster spool. Absolute blast to drive!

Redoing all the front bushings and ball joints at the moment. Getting the powerflex bushings before I get the car aligned. It's pretty unwieldy on the road. It just dances around all by itself. Kinda scary.

That is Turbonetics 8 hotside and some large turbine wheel.

Congrats on the build and doing it on your own. I didn't see a build/spec list. Was interested in what you did / had done to your build and associated expenses.

I'll add the build list soon. My experiences have stemmed from starting work on my e30 in high school after I paid way top much to repair a clutch. I started with oil changes, then spark plugs, then moved onto timing belt and all associated jobs with that. Moved onto suspension and brakes then needed to weld sheet metal.

Never had any formal training in mechanical work other than college engineering classes.
