Default Paint Color for 32v Intake?

I have my intake apart and was thinking about doing a dusting of paint to clean it up.

Has anyone found a color that is a match to the factory dull silver coating?

Thanks!

Zermatt Silver with no clear coat is how it came from the factory (the lack of clear coat is why the finish turns brownish after a couple of decades.)

Thank you! I went to the store and found a similar looking silver paint that's a little more brown-ish. Not an exact match, but close enough and better than the chipped stuff that is on there!

Would using standard Zermatt Silver with a clear coat designed for the exterior of the car be okay inside of the engine bay?

Like this system: http://www.rakuten.com/prod/12-5-oz-...DAVhoCR23w_wcB

I have an 89 I need to redo this too badly.

I think you should use something that's rated up to at least 250f or so, wouldn't think exterior paint would hold up very well under the hood. Even then good prep (including outgassing the intake in the oven prior to priming) is going to be the most important part of this job.

I did powder coat in this color and felt like it's a pretty close match to Zermatt.

Did mine over three years back just two pack paint clear over base.
