Possible to purchase sofa's?
I've got the LWB's in the GT4. I like them, but my wife does not. She hates "levitating" out of the seats.
I'd be interested in buying some 2 ways or 18 ways and keeping the LWB's and swapping as appropriate.
I've poked at both Sunset and Suncoast and they say "not possible" to find new seats for the GT4 and suggested buying used. Going to be hard to find, I expect and harder still with deviated red stitching.
I'm not buying right now, but looking for suggestions for when I'm ready.
Any thoughts on what else might fit for street use.
Note that suggestions for changing wives will be forwarded to my wife with copies of your wives/girlfriends/mothers emails attached.

OEM seats are both expensive and challenging to purchase (as you've encountered with Suncoast). I recommend monitoring the classifieds for seats being parted out for track/race car builds. Avoid seats out of crashed cars if there is any chance the side airbag hardware could have been damaged.

Despite conventional wisdom here, it's just as difficult to get the "sofas" as it is to the LWB.
If you contact your local Porsche dealer, you can actually order the sofas, but you have to do it in individual parts, which then have to be assembled by the dealership.
I don't even want to think about the final cost of that ...

Right. The point is : if true that the seat comes in pieces, what do you have in mind...? Pieces of foam, leather, stitching and the hard shell? No. Most likely the rail needs to be assembled. Again...not difficult. Just cost prohibitive through the parts department.

I'll have to make some measurements of the seats. There is a fellow in germany who assembles 993 sports seats at a very reasonable cost. I suspect they won't fit, however and codes would be a nightmare.

What about going aftermarket, something like the new Sparco SPX?

The problem with buying in parts is that the dealership isn't really keen on assembling them for you.
If you were in a crash, the body shop would order the parts and assemble it.
I suppose one could do it this way as well.
