Default New: Spiegler Stainless Steel Brake Lines 6-line Kit- replaces caliper hard lines!

Many of our Porsche customers haven't been thrilled with the quality of currently available options, and have repeatedly asked us to produce a premium quality brake line set that replaces the factory hard lines on the 991 GT3 and 981 GT4. We went back to the drawing board, and this product is the result.

Why Six Lines?

As you all know by now, swapping pads or changing discs on these cars can be a real headache, because the brake calipers are attached via hard, inflexible brake lines. The OEM lines are rigid, shouldn't be bent repeatedly, and don't allow the caliper to be set aside easily. Our kit replaces the factory soft lines with braided stainless hoses, while also eliminating the hard piping to both the front and rear calipers.

Why Spiegler, and not Brand X?

While we're not the first to create a six line kit, we have created the best one. The quality of the Spiegler components is a cut above the competition in all regards, and you can see the superior precision of the components in the pics below. Spiegler uses 100% stainless steel fittings machined from billet, and all fittings are attached with Spiegler's exclusive stress-free torsion system. That means the lines can be twisted or turned 360 degrees after they've been attached without placing any stress on the line or fitting. The components for Spiegler lines are imported from Switzerland, and the lines are assembled and tested in Dayton Ohio. The result is a brake line of unparalleled strength, durability, and reliability.

You can read all details and purchase the product here on our site. These are in stock and ready to ship.

Here is Spiegler's exclusive torsion fitting that allows one to remove tension from the line during install:

In the pics below, the Spiegler lines are gray and the competitor's lines are black. Note the precision and hard edges on Spiegler's fittings and threads, as well as the torsion fittings that allow the line to be rotated 360 degrees without stress.

Update...

Hello Gents,
We took all of your suggestions and input, and finally got a car back in to examine yesterday. We installed some Tarrett studs to check clearance and line length front and rear. We are going to make a few changes to improve our line kit as follows:

1. We are going to add somewhere between 2" - 2 1/2" to the front line length vs. our first pass on the design. That will allow anyone using studs to remove their caliper without disconnecting the line bracket from the spindle.
2. We are going to drop the banjo fitting on the front lines. While there is no technical disadvantage to the banjo, it seems like most customers are more interested in the factory-style fitting....so, if that's what you want, that's what you get!
3. Our rear lines are great as is, with or without studs, so those will be left alone.

The revised line kits will go into production in a couple of days, and we should have them available for purchase in a few weeks. Again, thanks for your input and patience.

Thanks for your patience gents! Orders for the revised Spiegler six brake line kits are now open! We have a limited number of these kits that arrived Friday, and more coming later this week. Until we get them checked into our inventory system, they will show up as “not in stock” on our site. The best method to get your hands on one of the first kits is to call us at 704-824-6030 and speak with Daniel Stagg.

Click here: Spiegler Six Line Kit for Porsche 991 GT3 and 981 GT4

As mentioned previously, these lines incorporate the following changes:
• We added a couple inches to the front line to allow the caliper to be removed from a stud kit without having to unbolt the line from the bracket.
• The line from the bracket to the caliper now has an OEM-style fitting, rather than a banjo bolt fitting.
• The rear lines are long enough to allow for removal of the rear caliper when mounted to a stud kit, and also use an OEM style fitting.

*Please note that the images on our site won’t reflect the above changes until later today or tomorrow.*

Please also note that Spiegler did have to raise the price slightly on both the six line kit and the original four line kit. The OEM style fittings are considerably more expensive than the banjo fittings we had initially planned to use. The Spiegler fittings are not simply a flared tube end. They are a precision machined stainless steel piece, and as such are very costly to produce. That said, when you get your hands on them, you’ll understand where your money went. They are beautifully made, and you should be able to enjoy them for quite some time under even the hardest track abuse.

As always, thank you for considering Essex and Spiegler!

Just noticed that the kit fits 991 GT3 and 981 GT4, Does it fit the 991 GT3 RS as well?

Yes, the lines on the RS are the same as the others, so they will work. Thanks.

Gents,
We've had a couple questions about fitting the lines to the car. Something to keep in mind is that unlike just about all other brake lines, Spiegler's unique fittings are adjustable. That means no twisting or tension in the line, and you can maneuver them as needed when installing them. We created the GIF's below to show how the fittings work. The easiest way to twist them is to use the little blue plastic blocks (included with your line kit) and a pair of pliers. Then you can spin the lines to point the fitting where you need the line to go, untwist the line, etc. Hopefully this helps!

Jeff
Just installed mine and had difficulty aligning the fixed coupling to the factory slots. I was under the assumption that the adjustability was for only the banjo fittings but I see now that it works on your new connector fittings. Nice quality fittings that will surely make pad changes a whole lot easier.

Sorry about the confusion! We figured many customers weren't aware of the flexibility of the fittings. We should have done the gif's sooner!
