Default Help: will these brake kits fit 1989 964 C4?

Hi guys,

Need your guys help on a brake kits fitment issue.

I ordered a Brembo kit for my 1989 964 C4 on carid.com. However, carid.com sent wrong kit for 1989 non-964 Carrera, because its system doesn't distinguish 1989 C4 from 1989 911. I contacted them for a return. however, they rejected to accept a return for refund. They claimed that my car's VIN is a 1990 Porsche, so it is my mistake to order brake kits for 1989 model... Their customer service is very rude. Every time I tried explain to them, there are 2 models of 911 in 1989, they just slammed door on my face with the same argument.

My questions is, does below kit fit a 1989 Porsche 964 C4? If not, I have to sell it on Rennlist/eBay.

BREMBO® 1P4.6001A5 - GT Series Cross Drilled Yellow 1-Piece Rotor Front Brake Kit

Porsche 911 Carrera 1989, GT Series Rear Cross Drilled Yellow Brake Kit (2C4.5001AC) by Brembo®. 4-Piston Caliper. Outside Diameter: 309mm (12.17"). Thickness: 28mm (1.1"). Rotor Construction: 1-Piece Rotor. Quantity: 1 Pair.

CarID are a premium Rennlist sponsor. If you're getting the runaround, send a PM to one of the moderators (e.g. Bob the Owner/Bob Rouleau) who can assist/intervene on your behalf.

Just want to show my communications with carid Customer service guys to let Rennlist member knows the whole story. carid guys has no interest to understand the problem but to reject you by saying" Sorry, you ordered wrong items".
A clear sign for their data accuracy error is that I ordered a PSS 10 suspension and a brake kit by searching compatible products for 1989 Porsche 911 on their website. I double checked PSS10 and confirmed the product # is correct fit for 964 C4, that's why I takes grounded that the brake kits under the same search should be a fit. That was my mistake to trust them. However, as a merchant, they should take responsibility for whatever they confirmed a fit.

What crappy customer service! You're just trying to exchange parts and they give you the runaround.

Call race technologies in the am
714.438.1118

They are the us exclusive distributor for brembo.

If that fails pm me offline.

This is bs. Screw carid. Never order from those monkeys.

Also, this is why I work with local shops that know this stuff. trust me long haul it's worth the extra few pts you pay in tax.

These kits are for a 911 Carrera 3.2 and do not fit ANY 964.

They should accept a return and refund your money as that's the way to do business and retain customers.

OP check your PM please.
Let me know how that works out.

Steve is right, their search engine or whatever they used to recommend the right kit is wrong. Those will fit on my G-body... But not a 964.

A quick update: I just called Danni@Race Tech, she is helping me to get an exchange. The coolest thing was she owns a 1991 964, so she got the point in 0 second.

Highly recommend to deal with Race tech for Brembo product in future.

Yeah, the RT/Brembo guys are good people, glad you are getting this worked out. Hopefully they address the issue with the reseller CarID.
