Lube the o-rings with refrigerant oil - whichever you are using as required by the refrigerant of choice.
You can also use Nylog (Red or Blue depending, again, upon refrigerant) on the junction threads if you want.

IIRC Nylog Blue is for r134a and Red is for r12. (I mark the bottles so I don't have to remember.)
For r12 use refrigeratant mineral oil; Ester oil for r134a.
