Default Front Brake Pads in Boston?

Does anyone local have an extra pair of brake pads lying around? Despite passing a Tech Inspection just three weeks ago, the front pads are 70% worn and now won't pass. The supplier sent a pair of pads to EPE, but the wrong ones and I am now SOL. DE at Palmer tomorrow is out unless I can find some brake pads within the hour. Part No. 993 351 939 01

Thanks,

Jim

Hopefully someone comes through.

But I've always gotten a kick out of DE tech, and minimums. Not that I'm saying it's right, but how often have we been out there on pads worn to the backing plates?

That's a bummer. I have a set of pagids but for big reds. Have you tried stealers or indy; they usually can get things quickly or have in stock.

Thanks for the replies Gentlemen - luck for me Bill Fister at Eurotech stepped up and offered to donate a slightly used pair of pads for the event. He's installing them tonight at 5 PM. We are quite lucky to have guys like Bill at Eurotech, and Jerry at EPE, who are not just great mechanics but true enthusiasts.

Awesome Jim. Have fun at palmer, I'm planning to make a trip there at the end of August with NNJR.

P.S. Your donatated tires are about done, but I got good use out of them - 10 track days and bunch of road miles.

Was gonna tell you to call bill pfister. He always seems to have what you need "in stock". Guy has saved me several time already.

Oops, turbo brake pads and they're not turbo brakes. We can fix that.

Bill's a good guy.

I would offer my set off the car (it takes 10 minutes to get them out), but need to drive the thing to an autocross site tomorrow morning. Glad you've found the pads!

Jim,

It looks like you are all set, but, would you like me to bring these tomorrow?

I do not have any shims however.

They actually work fine without shims, Al, if I remember correctly.

Al,

That's a very gracious offer, thank you Sir. I've already ordered a set with Bill Pfister, however, and should be all set. In the meantime, the turbo brakes work like a charm. Look forward to seeing you at Palmer.

Ken,

Palmer eats brakes.

There is 510' of overall elevation change with 14 turns in 2.37 miles.

Regards,

.
