Bertrand - You're English is near perfect...although because I've spent a bit of time with you at Frenzy I do always detect your French-Canadian accent while reading your posts

I like the new avatar.

I like the new avatar.
Ditto that Jon! I hear your voice in your posts Bertrand, and the English is perfect! Love the accent.
This thread is excellent. Well structured sentences and proof reading before posting makes for better content, and probably fewer hurty feelings too, since the act of proofreading causes one to reconsider something that person might have otherwise said

Follow up: In the same forum I mentioned at the beginning of this thread, a contributor made several long posts that might have been helpful except he used no punctuation whatsoever. I couldn't resist being a nag, replying:

"I found a list of the top ten writers who defied the rules of punctuation. Second on the list was James Joyce, about whom was said "Inconducive to one’s understanding of the novel is the inconvenient fact that out of the 24048 words in the novel’s final episode only two periods and one comma can be found. Thankfully, countless study guides have been written to help struggling readers digest the tome."

Eschew inconduciveness!

I apologize in advance for errors in punctuation and spelling. As my hands suffer increasingly from arthritis, the keyboard is rebelling by misspelling words and inserting punctuation in a totally random fashion. I've tried several different and new keyboards, but the malady seems to propagate from fingers to keys. Perhaps a speeling spray for the keays wood help?

Plus, there is the "wife factor".

Was posting something the other day and my wife was impatiently waiting for me to take her to dinner. It's hard to type, spell and use good grammar when someone is asking you every two minutes, "how much longer are you going to be?"..."are we going or not?"

We were half way to the restaurant when I realized I'd spelled merry, marry (as in..."on our merry way").

So, no apology here...it's all my wife's doings...lol.

As far as the original topic goes...good descriptive post are very helpful and all. However, what bothers me...is when folks do not give a "back-story" about the 928 issues they are encountering. Did it happen suddenly, has the car been sitting for months, years, decades, what did you work on last, etc, etc...

Brian.

Glad I'm not the only one. This could be another thread.... I keep my bank website open in another window to switch to when I need to show this isn't fun time at the computer..."just paying a few bills"....she steps out...back to Rennlist.

IIRC, Rennlist is accessible via mobile device. A quick trip to the restroom could have corrected it.

I'd need to get a much, much longer cord for the handset then...

Only phone we have, not sure if it would be considered a "smart" phone. We've talked about getting a cell phone...but I think they are just a fad and folks will go full circle back to the dail...okay...maybe not...lol.

Brian.
For a few decades I kept a rotary-dial wall phone in the garage. Figured that any kid who got in there wouldn't know how to make any calls on it, so it was safe.

I'm still using a rotary-dial keyboard....

'So why do you call it "hanging up the phone"?'
