Kidding aside, I am sure there are a lot fewer GTS manual transmission coupes in the general Porsche community than are seen on Rennlist.

Likely so, either way it's the last of the flat six with power kit. They will hold value just fine.

If the number of pre-owned cars for sale are any indication, GTS are more rare than GT3.

Currently on Porsche pre-owned car locator, there are only 12 GTS and 4 C4-GTS listed for sale in the entire US. In comparison, there are 33 GT3 and 18 GT3-RS listed for sale.

I can't wait for the day when someone is giving me their GT3 + cash for my rare GTS!

It's not the end of the world but I would just prefer without.
Also safer in case of a rollover -- the metal sunroof can forcibly slide open from external factors and the glass sunroof can shatter in worst case.

I'm so glad I owned a 981 GTS first because Caymans do not have a sunroof. When I spec'd my 991.1 GTS, no sunroof. I'm glad I didn't order it. My salesman called me to make sure I knew that my car didn't automatically come with a sunroof. I told him that I knew that & I didn't want one. This car is a keeper & I didn't want anything to break, leak, etc. To the OP, my 7MT, no sunroof, full aero with ducktail & wing, 18-way sports seat with ventilation, no Alcantara, LED lighting, & GT Silver must be extremely rare. Fact is, all are cars are rare because there is a very small chance that any two were exactly spec'd the same. That is, if you were lucky enough to custom order one.

You can actually do that now in a lot of states.

Don't know how valuable a 7 speed will be to the future drivers that don't know how to use it. I'm enjoying mine though and not worrying to much about it.

So short of kidnapping a Porsche executive, tying him to a chair and tickling his feet with a pillow feather in order to gain the US-bound GTS production numbers, does anyone have a more law-abiding approach for sourcing the data?

Love my PDK and sunroof and have a hunch that the racing yellow paint is pretty rare within the GTS range.

Discuss!

I personally think that all of us 991.1 GTS owners have a collector's item on our hands for the simple reason that we have a bitchin' 430 horse naturally aspirated engine in our vehicle's derrier. I have a cab with PDK. Blasphemy to some, but perfect for my So Cal lifestyle. I am never selling the car but I am confident that it will be looked upon as a Porsche "classic" in about a decade or so.
