Trailex Tire Rack on a 3110
Can someone tell me the measurement from the front of the deck to the front of the forward post for the side post location. Obviously Trailex lets us figure this out. I have a picture of Spyrex' 3110, and it looks like 8". I set the side posts up on the deck just to take the picture with the ruler for reference at 12". I only want to drill holes in the side once.

I mounted mine as far forward a I could. It was defined by where the through bolts for the side angle brackets could be bolted. The forward post is 2 -3 " from inside the front rail. Once that is set the rest just fall into place. I think you have the additional complication of the side rails, so you don't want those to interfere with the other side angle brackets.

Have you seen this thread for a few years back?:

FWIW I'd consider shortening the legs unless you're towing behind a motorhome. They're just too high off the deck and place a lot of resistance (your tires) in the windstream. I had a custom one made for my 3110 based on 6 inches of clearance below the rack....

It is actually going behind a 2014 Cayenne S. I had another picture of yours, Chris, and did go off decals. I set the front of the forward post 8" back. Close enough. I considered lowering the tire rack, but TexasRS knows I am not trying to stick the nose of a GT3 under there. This is for a Spec Miata. He suggested getting with Trailex to get a second set of main tire support bars and have double decker tires. The rack appears that it will hold 8 easy and maybe 9. Toyo rains are a little narrower than the RRs.
I really want a set of rains, two sets of stickers and a set of practice tires on the trailer. Then another practice set on the car. I can haul the extras on my trailer, but it would be nice if they were all on the same trailer as the Miata. Quickest way to make sure it doesn't rain is to bring rains.

Ok cool. Yeah if you done need the space you could easily add another bar there. Just watch the tongue weight. I get 4 rears and 3 fronts in gt3 sizes if the bars are app the way up. 4 rear 2 fronts with it down the way I have it. I usually just have 1 additional full set. Rain is rare here!

And yes, tongue weight is an issue. I am mounting both trailer spares behind the trailer axles and will winch the car on backwards. The front is a little heavier.

Can you move the axles on the featherlite like you can on the Trailex?

Enterprise truck rentals! Truck was brand new with 2500 miles on it.
And for the record it was an f350 full bed double cab 4x4 with power stroke 6.7l diesel. Needless to say I couldn't feel the car behind me.
They rent f150, 250, 350 and bigger. I reserved a 250 they gave me this monster.
Lol. Martin would love for me to get one. And pull a double with his crap in it.
Tempting....
There is something liberating about a big *** truck!!
