I recently found my rear license plate lamps are Hella/BMW in my 97' 993tt. As well the ICV seal is a BMW part.

Checked the my 95' Carrera rear license lamps and only does say Hella and something else but not BMW, as well checked friend's 96 Carrera and same story, no BMW license plate lamps.

Interesting...

There are some Japanese-made electronic bits in the CCU...Toshiba IIRC.

True. I found some of the wiring harness connections that were also labeled as Saab parts.

Many electrical connectors may be marked "Bosch", "BMW" or others but the pins, sockets and housings were, in all probability, manufactured by then AMP Incorporated, now TYCO Electronics.

Yes, jap electronics are pretty common and Denso is widely used in many car makers. It just bring my attention that my 993tt has the BMW license lamps and the others not (besides the ICV seal).

So, all you go check the *** of their girls, slap it (to take off the dust) and see if it has the stamp of the competitor!

Vacuum actuators on the Varioram can be found under BMW part numbers.
